The 3rd largest PC manufacturer of in the world plans to release a 10.2 inches netbook and all-in-one desktop that will compete in the market dominated by Apple and Asus. Acer said that the release of this netbook is scheduled next year to rival Asus Eee. On other side, Acer still has not confirmed any solution of cheaper all-in-one desktop to compete iMac and Eee Top, but TG Daily said that this product will also be coming soon.
This new netbook will expand the product lines of company after 8.9 inch Aspire One previously launched. This product is one of the most successful products in United States market but many vendors started to end the production of 7, 8 and 9 inches netbooks and migrated to 10.2 inch netbook production. Sun Microsystems attempted to compete with Google Code and GitHub, through Kenai Project, a hosting site for open source project from Sun, which is launched in beta version. According to Nick Sieger, project engineer of Kenai, the main objective of this project is not to compete with the existing hosting sites.
Developers can become the host of their project without additional cost at the site, plus the ease of Subversion and Mercurial control system.
