Please, stop annoying everybody with your stupid comments on virtually every post in my blog. Go away. Get a life. Or at least bother someone else.

And I mean that in the nicest way possible. I said “please”.

I noticed last night that the hit counter on my homepage was approaching 10,000. I checked in this morning and it was at 10,004! My 10,000 visitor must have came overnight.

I would also just like to mention that that number only includes visits to the homepage. If someone found a specific blog post on Google or just went to pakman20.com/blog instead of going to the homepage and clicking the link, it wasn’t counted. Also, for a short period of time, there was not hit counter at all on my site. After I had finished with my redesign I didn’t like the way the old counter looked, so I took a while looking for a site that would give me a new one. Then I just started it at the number the old one ended at.

Hey, today’s random fact of the day is so long that it doesn’t display correctly in the toolbar. It looks fine in the Pakman20.com homepage, though. Just wanted to let people with my toolbar know that I’m working on the problem.

The now famous Hollywood sign originally read “Hollywoodland” as an advertisement in 1923 for a new housing development. It was only intended to last a year or so, but survived for much longer. In 1939 it’s maintenance officially ended and it began to fall apart. 10 years later, the Hollywood Chamber of Congress took control. They removed the last four letters and the lights that had lined each letter. Years later, they replaced the whole structure with a more permanent one made of Australian steel, which still stands today. Learn more about the Hollywood sign here.

If you ask me, that’s a pretty good random fact of the day.

Yesterday I posted that I was upgrading our GoDaddy.com servers and the site would be down for 24 hours. Actually, it didn’t go down at all! I had called GoDaddy on the phone (amazing experience, I had ZERO waiting time and talked to a REAL person that wasn’t Indian!) and looked through their support center. Everything I read told me it would take about 24 hours. It actually only took 26 minutes to upgrade! I got an email from GoDaddy just 28 minutes after I submitted my request, but they did say that there might be a few hiccups as I wait for everything to sort itself out. So the site is still working, but we’re going to have to be patient with the occasional error for the day or so.

I had been feeling pretty bad about GoDaddy. My economy Windows hosting plan just wasn’t cutting it. But I was able to upgrade to Linux last night in just a few minutes AND IT COST ME NOTHING! I know this sounds like some sort of ad they’re paying me to do, but it’s not. This is my blog, and these are my feelings.

Thank you, GoDaddy.

Happy New Year!!!!!
Pakman20.com/blog has switched from Blogger to Wordpress. It’s so much easier for me to manage all the pages now… the pages I have in Wordpress. So I’ve grabbed just the last few posts from my Blogger blog and put them here.

Also, I’d like to announce our new member, Notre. He’s kindly agreed to help me out by occasionally posting here, so be on the lookout for his posts.

More info at the about page.
